The Landings Marshwood Kitchen Remodel Case Study

Smart, Stylish, and Storage-Rich: A Custom Kitchen Remodel in Savannah’s Marshwood Landings Subdivision

View Full Project Photos

Overview

Located in the desirable Marshwood subdivision of The Landings, this custom kitchen remodel is a perfect example of how intentional design can transform both space and lifestyle. For these homeowners, the inspiration started the moment they zeroed in on a color. They wanted an all-green kitchen. Once they selected the perfect green backsplash, the rest of the design fell into place. With the expert guidance of Kitchen Design Solutions (KDS), they created a kitchen that feels both elegant and tailored to real-life functionality. Every finish was selected new, resulting in a space that reflects warmth, purpose, and personality.

The Problem

The homeowners explored several layout options but quickly realized that a full island wasn’t going to work. With expert guidance from the KDS team, they found a creative solution: incorporating a kitchenette-style area that offered added functionality without compromising flow. KDS also suggested additional upgrades, like a built-in towel rack, to make use of every inch. The homeowners appreciated how quickly the cabinets were installed, and when a drawer didn’t fit perfectly, it was replaced promptly without hassle.

Everything came into place once we chose the backsplash. That decision set the tone for the whole space. John and Cindy were very helpful throughout the process. KDS helped us work through different layouts, offered great advice, and made it all come together. We’ve already told several people about our kitchen. We’re very proud of it.

The Solution

With a focus on smart storage, elevated finishes, and a timeless palette, KDS delivered a kitchen that is both beautiful and highly functional. Key design features include:

  • Koch Cabinetry in the classic Prairie style, finished in a bold Foxhall Green for rich contrast
  • Custom accessories like a cutlery divider, dish towel pull-out, bread box insert, and double trash pull-out
  • Calacatta Viraldi quartz countertops from Lowcountry Granite, adding refined texture and durability
  • Champagne bronze hardware and fixtures, offering a soft, elegant touch
  • A striking green backsplash from Garden State Tile that unified the overall design

Each selection was carefully made to reflect the homeowners’ taste and to elevate the function of the space without sacrificing style.

The Result

The new kitchen offers more than just good looks. It delivers efficient storage, spacious flow, and a modern yet warm aesthetic. The homeowners now enjoy more storage than they know what to do with, which they say is a good thing. The switch from electric to gas range also made a significant impact, aligning the kitchen with their lifestyle and cooking preferences.

Guests regularly compliment the transformation, and the homeowners take pride in every detail. What began as a design challenge became an opportunity to create a kitchen that’s both impressive and deeply personal.
