After moving down from New York, the husband and wife lived in the home for a few years before deciding it was time for a kitchen cabinet upgrade. Like many snowbirds drawn to The Landings lifestyle, they fell in love with the community’s abundant activities, from golfing and tennis to its vibrant social scene. Recognizing that their 1990s home was ready for a fresh look, they focused on renovating the heart of their home—the kitchen.

The homeowners, who love entertaining family and friends, envisioned a light, bright, and functional space with a coastal vibe that would seamlessly blend style and utility. Through thoughtful design choices and high-quality craftsmanship, their dream came to life. The result is a luxurious and airy kitchen, perfect for cooking, hosting, and enjoying cocktails on a warm summer night. The previous kitchen design felt outdated and didn’t capture the breezy, cohesive coastal theme the homeowners dreamed of. The dated backsplash and countertops made the kitchen feel dark. Additionally, they wanted to enhance functionality by upgrading their appliances and incorporating customized storage features like a wine cooler and an induction cooktop, while maximizing every inch of space. The previous kitchen island lacked enough space for seating and and storage.

Solution:

Fortunately, the entire experience went smoothly, thanks to careful planning and collaboration. The Kitchen Design Solutions team, alongside trusted contractors, executed the homeowners’ vision with precision. The cabinetry was a standout feature, featuring Marsh Furniture Company Cabinets in a sleek Hampton-Alpine finish for the perimeter and a stunning Shiloh Cabinetry Island as the centerpiece. Special accessories like a high-back roll-out tray, spice pull-out, utensil pull-out, bread drawer, tray dividers, and a tall wine cabinet brought functionality and elegance to the space. The double trash pull-out and appliance storage features further streamlined daily use.

The countertops, crafted by Cambria surfaces, provided a durable and visually striking focal point, complemented by a Garden State Tile herringbone blue-grey backsplash. Plumbing fixtures from Sandpiper Supply, including a tumbled granite sink by Nantucket and a sleek faucet by Moen, completed the look.

Lighting played a crucial role in creating the desired coastal ambiance. Fixtures from Pace Lighting highlighted the space beautifully, while the agreeable grey walls, painted with Sherwin Williams, provided a calming backdrop. The flooring, supplied by Savannah Flooring, added warmth and texture.

State-of-the-art appliances from Livingoods made the kitchen as functional as it was beautiful. The lineup included a BOSCH 36″ Counter-Depth 4-Door Refrigerator, a BOSCH 36″ Induction Cooktop, a BOSCH 30″ Double Wall Oven, and a SHARP Microwave Drawer. Additional features like the XO Wine Cooler and BRISAS Beverage Cooler added the finishing touches to this dream kitchen.
