Overview
The first change was pulling up the carpet. At the time, she still wasn’t sure she would live in the house.
After her father passed away, this homeowner inherited her childhood home in Rose Dhu, in Savannah’s Coffee Bluff area. She knew its rooms and its history, but moving back was a difficult decision. Her father had passed away in the home, and she didn’t know how it would feel to make a life there again.
Then she started a small project. Once the carpet came up, she kept going. One change led to another, and what began without a firm plan became a renovation she wanted to see through.
She knew the home needed to work for her life now. She wanted a kitchen and dining area that felt connected, light coastal colors, and rooms that felt like her own. With cabinetry from Kitchen Design Solutions, she brought that developing vision into the kitchen, laundry room, hallway, and bathrooms.
She and her family have since downsized into the home. What once felt like an uncertain move has become a place they love living in.
