Overview
Blue has always made this homeowner happy. When she began planning a kitchen renovation in Buckhead North, she knew she wanted to finally bring that color into the room where she cooks.
She also wanted the kitchen to work better for her. After back surgery, bending and reaching into cabinets had become important considerations. She pictured a space that felt clean, fresh, open, and airy, with thoughtful storage that would make it easier to find and use what she needed.
With Kitchen Design Solutions, she chose custom-finished Koch cabinetry, specialized storage accessories, and a striking countertop that continues up the backsplash. Today, she cooks much more than she used to and moves around the kitchen with greater ease.
The Problem: A Kitchen That Needed to Feel Good and Work Better
The homeowner had always wanted a blue kitchen. She wanted that color to make the room feel happy and personal while keeping the overall look bright and open.
Function mattered just as much. Following back surgery, she wanted to bend less when getting things out of her cabinets. Her goal was to organize everyday cooking supplies so she could reach them more comfortably, use her storage more effectively, and move through the kitchen with ease.
The new design also needed to feel at home alongside elements she planned to keep, including the original flooring and refrigerator. Cabinetry, countertops, hardware, and lighting all had to come together as one intentional space.
The project encountered a delay when several cabinet doors arrived in the wrong colors. The homeowner spoke highly of her contractor and installers, but getting those finishes right was an important part of bringing her vision to life.
